New Lincoln manager Chris Sutton will be hoping to continue his 100 per cent record against Northampton Town.

Sutton, who has guided the Imps to successive 1-0 victories since taking charge at Sincil Bank, has Janos Kovacs and Cian Hughton returning to the squad for the trip to Sixfields.

Hungarian defender Kovacs missed the win at Macclesfield through suspension after accumulating five yellow cards this season, while midfielder Hughton was also absent at Moss Rose as he was on international duty with the Republic of Ireland Under-21 side.

Sutton was handed a defensive boost last weekend when on-loan Nottingham Forest full-back Joe Heath made his return from a hernia operation as a late substitute, but striker Paul Connor is still building up his match fitness following a knee injury.

New signing Khano Smith will not be involved as City are still awaiting international clearance for the Bermudan winger.

Northampton news

Northampton's leading scorer Ryan Gilligan is pressing for a recall as he returns to the squad after serving his one-match suspension for collecting five bookings.

Cobblers winger Liam Davis remains in the treatment room with a broken metatarsal, but is two weeks away from making a comeback.

Adebayo Akinfenwa is set to start after scoring off the bench at Bury last Saturday - the former Swansea forward may step in for experienced front-man Steve Guinan.

Ian Sampson will take charge of his first home league game since officially being named Northampton boss, as his players aim to stretch the club's unbeaten league run to five matches.
