Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin will face a late fitness test ahead of the visit of Walsall.

Schneiderlin, 20, missed the goalless draw with Wycombe on Tuesday with a knee injury.

He appears to have recovered swiftly from that problem, though, and should figure at the weekend.

Saints boss Alan Pardew will still be without striker David Connolly, who has a groin problem.

Walsall news

Walsall boss Chris Hutchings could welcome three players back to his squad for the trip to St Mary's.

Rhys Weston, Jamie Vincent and Darryl Westlake are all back in full training following recent stints on the sidelines.

Weston appears to have recovered from a hamstring issue which has seen him miss six of the Saddlers' seven games this month.

Vincent fell awkwardly on his ankle in defeat to Yeovil earlier in the week but should be okay for Saturday.

Westlake did not figure in the week but appears to have shaken off a calf strain and will compete for a starting berth.

Steve Jones is available once again, however, midfielder Dwayne Mattis (leg) Winger Peter Till (hamstring) and striker Sam Parkin (groin) remain sidelined.
