Charlton will welcome a meeting with rock-bottom Stockport as they attempt to close in on the top two.

The Addicks have recovered from a recent wobble to claim two victories from their last three outings and they are now just four points behind second-placed Leeds.

County are more concerned with events at the opposite end of the table and they remain nine points adrift of safety.

Charlton team news

Deon Burton, Jonjo Shelvey and Jose Semedo are injury doubts for Charlton boss Phil Parkinson.

The Addicks will make a late decision on top scorer Burton after the striker had an injection in his groin earlier in the week.

Teenage playmaker Shelvey took a whack to his ankle in training on Thursday and fellow midfielder Semedo has been struggling with a virus.

Parkinson is still without left-backs Kelly Youga (knee) and Grant Basey (ankle) so on loan Notts County midfielder Johnnie Jackson continues to fill in.

Goalkeeper Rob Elliot gifted Southend a goal during Charlton's 2-1 win at Roots Hall last time out, but Parkinson is set to keep faith with his No.1.

Stockport team news

Stockport boss Gary Ablett will be without midfielder David Poole for the daunting trip to The Valley.

Poole was sent off for the second time this season in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers and now serves a two-match ban.

Ablett also looks certain to be without striker Jemal Johnson after he was substituted against the Pirates after picking up a hamstring injury.

He was replaced after just 39 minutes by former Liverpool winger Ritchie Partridge, who could now be handed a starting role.

Johnny Mullins is a doubt with an ankle injury and could miss out again, but fellow defender Danny Swailes is expected to shake off a dead leg and be passed fit.
