FC Zurich will be looking to build on their shock victory over AC Milan when they take on Marseille.

The Swiss minnows were written off as also-rans before a ball had been kicked in this season's UEFA Champions, but currently sit second in Group C.

They may have been hammered 5-2 by Real Madrid in their opening fixture, but there was enough in that performance to suggest they were capable of springing an upset.

Such a result duly arrived at Giuseppe Meazza on Matchday Two as Zurich humbled the mighty Milan on their own patch.

Three more points on Wednesday, coupled with the fact that Milan must face Real, could leave the Swiss side well on course for the knockout stages.

Marseille, though, will provide stubborn opposition despite taking nothing from their opening two fixtures.

The French giants will not have given up hope of reaching the last-16 and know that success in midweek will offer them a timely shove in the right direction.

Chikhaoui missing

Zurich's cause has not been helped by the fact that they currently have four members of their first-team squad out of action.

The creative influence of Yassine Chikhaoui, who is carrying a knee injury, will undoubtedly be missed, while French forward Eric Hassli is also out with a broken leg.

Daniel Stucki (ankle) and Martin Buchel (foot) complete Bernard Challendes' injury list.

Meanwhile, Onyekachi Okonkwo is just one booking away from a suspension and will need to tread carefully.

Diawara banned

Marseille will be without the services of Souleymane Diawara for the must-win clash.

The Senegalese defender misses out as he serves a suspension.

Julien Rodriguez (ankle) and Cyril Rool (knee) are also unavailable to Didier Deschamps.
