Unirea Urziceni could become the first Romanian side to make it through the UEFA Champions League Group stages.

The Romanian champions host Sevilla - who have already booked their passage from Group G - knowing victory could seal a place in the knock-out phase.

Should Unirea beat Sevilla, and Stuttgart fail to win at Rangers, then Dan Petrescu's men will be through.

The first clash between the two sides saw Sevilla seal a 2-0 win in Spain, but Unirea coach Dan Petrescu is hopeful his side can take victory in a match he describes as the most important of his career.

"It is an important match, not only for us, but also for our country and for football in our country, because we are in a position in which no Romanian team has been in the new Champions League format: we are in a position to qualify, even if it depends on the result in the other match in the group," he said.

"This might be the most important match of my career."

Sevilla coach Manuel Jimenez insists his side will still be going all out for victory despite already being through.

"They are very well-organised and we are taking this match very seriously," he said.

"Of course, we have the potential to win the Spanish championship and the Champions League, but we want to take everything step by step and prepare well for each match in turn."

Team news

Sevilla go into the game with a huge amount of players sidelined as nine first-teamers missed their weekend win at Tenerife.

Ivica Dragutinovic and Sergio Sanchez should return but Tom De Mul, Federico Fazio, Lautaro Acosta, Arouna Kone, Aldo Duscher, Adriano, Julien Escude and Andres Palop are all sidelined.

Unirea have fewer selection issues with only Raul Rusecu and Bruno Fernandes out.
