Wales will be looking to end their poor run of form on home soil when they tackle Scotland at the Cardiff City Stadium.

John Toshack's side have lost their last three in Wales, however, they have a change of venue for the visit of Scotland.

Both teams have missed out on next summer's World Cup finals in South Africa and are looking for a confidence-boosting win.

Wales news

Toshack has a number of players unavailable for the visit of George Burley's Scotland side.

Nottingham Forest full-back Chris Gunter has joined a lengthy absentee list after being forced to withdraw with a viral complaint.

James Collins, Craig Bellamy, Jack Collison, Simon Davies, David Vaughan, Neal Eardley, Boaz Myhill are all unavailable due to injury.

Robert Earnshaw, Joe Allen, Andy Dorman and Darcy Blake were all called up by Toshack as replacements.

Teenager Adam Matthews could win his first cap in the match, although he is likely to settle for a place on the bench.

Scotland news

Cardiff keeper David Marshall is likely to start between the sticks for Scotland on his home ground with Craig Gordon (arm) out.

Scotland have a virtually fully-fit squad to choose from with Manchester United's Darren Fletcher available after missing training on Wednesday.

Kevin Thomson and Steven Whittaker pulled out of Scotland's squad this week while Scott Brown and Shaun Maloney are unavailable.

Charlie Adam was called up following Thomson and Whittaker's withdrawals while St Mirren goalkeeper Paul Gallacher replaced Gordon.
