Ipswich play host to promotion-chasing Cardiff aiming to climb clear of trouble at the wrong end of the table.

Roy Keane will be without midfielder Grant Leadbitter after the former Sunderland man collected his 10th booking of the season during Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Blackpool and will begin a two-match suspension.

Owen Garvan is likely to take Leadbitter's place alongside David Norris in the centre of midfield as Town look for a win to steer clear of the relegation zone.

Goalkeeper Richard Wright could be named on the bench after overcoming a knee injury but Argentinian winger Luciano Civelli is not expected to be back from his knee surgery until September.

Cardiff news

Cardiff boss Dave Jones is expected to name the same side that beat Middlesbrough for the clash at Portman Road.

Jay Bothroyd netted an early goal as the sixth-placed Bluebirds ended a winless league run of three games with a 1-0 victory over Boro to put their promotion campaign back on track.

But Jones will again be without several players as top scorer Peter Whittingham (torn groin muscle) and left-back Mark Kennedy (calf) are still a week or two away from a return.

Stephen McPhail (ribs) has suffered a slight setback in his recovery but is still expected to be back at some point this month, while the Bluebirds are seeking information from Manchester City regarding on-loan striker Kelvin Etuhu's ankle problem.

Mark Hudson is now wearing an air boot to lessen the pressure on his ankle injury and is receiving extensive treatment from the club's physio, while Joe Ledley (hips surgery) continues his recovery. The duo are not expecting to return until April.

Josh Magennis (broken fibula) is now off crutches and the player himself wants to return in the near future, while Miguel Comminges (knee) also remains sidelined.
