Shiels: Killie hopeful over midfielder

Team news ahead of Saturday's Scottish League Cup semi-final between Ayr United and Kilmarnock at Hampden Park (kick-off 1pm).

Ayr United defender Martyn Campbell has returned to full training after four months out of action following a knee operation, but a lack of match fitness could be a problem for the clash at Hampden.

Better news for the Honest Men is the return of midfielder Alan Trouten following a hamstring injury.

Kilmarnock are hopeful Dean Shiels will be passed fit for the game.

The midfielder was struggling with illness earlier in the week but trained this morning and should be involved at Hampdenif he suffers no reaction.

Defenders Alex Pursehouse and Ryan O'Leary remain on the sidelines with knee injuries.
