Morecambe strolled to their biggest away win since securing promotion to the Football League as a second-half stroll saw them leave the Darlington Arena with a 4-0 triumph.

Phil Jevons started the rout after 56 minutes when Quakers midfielder Jon Hogg, making his home debut, gave the ball away cheaply.

Rock bottom Darlington's heads dropped and Laurence Wilson raced away to fire home a second seven minutes later.

Stewart Drummond converted Craig Stanley's free-kick from close range then, when home keeper Nick Liversedge failed to control the ball, substitute Wayne Curtis rolled in the fourth.

Darlington have a mountain to climb to steer clear of relegation trouble, though ironically in the first half they had much the better of it.
