FC Twente are now five points clear at the top of the Eredivisie following a 3-1 win over ADO Den Haag.

Steve McClaren's side fell behind early on at Arke Stadion, but responded in style to secure a comfortable success.

Wesley Verhoek brought the game screaming to life inside 60 seconds, but that would be as good as things got for struggling Den Haag.

Bryan Ruiz levelled for Twente on 32 minutes, successfully converting from the penalty spot.

He then grabbed his second of the game on 56 minutes, before Kenneth Perez put the seal on a convincing victory with a third on 69 minutes.

Twente have now won five games in row, and continue to lead the way from PSV Eindhoven, while Den Haag are winless in four and remain inside the relegation zone.
