Majstorovic: Heads home solitary goal
The ten-man of AEK Athens managed to hold on to secure a 1-0 win over Benfica to place Everton well and truly in the driving seat of Group I.
Daniel Majstorovic scored the only goal of the game when he got on the end of Jorge Manduca's corner minutes before half-time.
The Greeks knew that three points were a must following their dismal showing against Everton last time out.
However, just when it looked like AEK would be taking all three points home Nikos Georgeas was dismissed for a second bookable offence with five minutes remaining.
In the end the hosts were able to hold on and throw second place in Group I wide open should Everton keep up their impressive start.
