Stevenage clinched their first victory in League Two thanks to a fighting 3-1 win against Stockport at Broadhall Way.

Two goals from Charlie Griffin and Michael Bostwick did the trick for the home team and although George Donnelly scored a late consolation for the visitors, they have still to register a win this season.

Borough were deserved winners and after Bostwick had had a shot saved by Stockport keeper Owain Fon Williams, Graham Westley's side pushed on and took the lead in the 29th minute when Griffin headed a Ronnie Henry cross into the back of the net.

And then Bostwick scored himself with a left-foot screamer two minutes before the break as Borough took control.

Griffin scored from close-range in the 71st minute to put the contest out of doubt before Donnelly scored with a close-range header at the end of the game to at least give Stockport something to smile about.
