Cliftonville's Europa League hopes are hanging by a thread after a 3-0 defeat to CSKA Sofia in the first leg of their third qualifying tie.

CSKA got off to a flying start when Pavel Vidanov gave them the lead after just nine minutes.

The home side took full control of the tie in the second half against the Northern Irish side.

Marcos Marquinhos doubled CSKA's lead in the 72nd minute before Rumen Trifonov added another two minutes later.

Cliftonville's misery was complete when Stephen Garrett was sent off six minutes from time for a second booking.

Cliftonville now have a mountain to climb in the second leg on 5th August .
