Kemar Roofe's double helped Oxford take a giant step towards Wembley with a 2-0 win at Millwall in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy southern area final first leg.
Having beaten Barclays Premier League side Swansea 3-2 in the FA Cup on Sunday, Sky Bet League Two outfit Oxford secured a second win over higher-tier opposition in five days thanks to Roofe's 16th and 17th goals of the season.
The U's took the lead on 15 minutes in a moment David Forde will want to forget as Roofe's miscued cross from the left was helped inside his near post by the Millwall stopper.
From then on the visitors looked comfortable, their only scare coming when Benjamin Buchel denied Steve Morison from a header.
And they doubled their advantage before the break as John Lundstram's curling strike from 25 yards struck the underside of the bar but Roofe reacted quickest to convert the rebound from close range.
Patrick Hoban should have made it three after the restart, but his miss mattered little as Oxford held firm until the final whistle.
