MK Dons will be without the suspended Joe Walsh when they begin their Sky Bet League One campaign at home to Wigan.
The central defender carries a ban over from last season and will also miss the EFL Cup tie at Forest Green on August 8.
As many as eight players are available to make their competitive debuts for the Dons following their arrivals in the summer, with Ethan Ebanks-Landell, Gboly Ariyibi, Ousseynou Cisse, Aaron Tshibola, Ryan Seager, Conor McGrandles, Peter Pawlett and Wieger Sietsma all available.
Chuks Aneke suffered an injury-plagued campaign last time but the forward is working his way back to fitness and should be fully fit soon.
Wigan look set to be without both Max Power and Omar Bogle after the pair were told they can leave.
Neither midfielder Power nor striker Bogle are expected to be part of new boss Paul Cook's squad following last year's relegation out of the Championship.
Will Grigg, whose season ended in March due to a knee injury, scored five in a pre-season friendly against Chorley in midweek and could feature.
Reece James (foot) still needs more game time and Shaun MacDonald (leg break) will certainly miss the start of the campaign.
