Ligue 1 big guns Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain shared a 1-1 draw at the Stade Louis II.

Ligue 1 big guns Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain shared a 1-1 draw at the Stade Louis II on Sunday night to leave the visitors five points clear at the summit. Javier Pastore gave PSG the lead with an early header and Zlatan Ibrahimovic went close on several occasions for the leaders. But Thiago Silva's own goal in the second half denied his side victory as Claudio Ranieri's side kept themselves in touch. The opening goal came in the eighth minute when Thiago Motta's corner was headed on by Alex and nodded in at the far post by Pastore. Monaco responded and Lucas Ocampos' shot was saved by Salvatore Sirigu before Emmanuel Riviere put the rebound wide. Ibrahimovic twice tried his luck from free-kicks before the interval, but keeper Danijel Subasic was equal to the task on each occasion. The Sweden striker volleyed over from Motta's half-cleared corner early in the second half and then saw another free-kick blocked by Subasic. Sirigu blocked Layvin Kurzawa's header before Monaco were denied a penalty, Thiago Silva crudely barging Riviere aside as his keeper claimed a looping high ball. Subasic again excelled, stretching to turn away Lucas Moura's powerful shot, and was immediately rewarded. Monaco swept straight up the other end and from Fabinho's fierce cross, Thiago Silva stretched to intercept but could only divert the ball past Sirigu and into the net. Sirigu had to make a sharp save from Fabinho late on but his efforts were matched by the impressive Subasic, who parried Ibrahimovic's close-range effort.
