Morecambe have no fresh injury concerns ahead of Tuesday’s Sky Bet League Two home clash with Colchester.
It is thought unlikely that either Kevin Ellison (hamstring), who missed the 2-1 win over Exeter on Saturday, or Steven Old (knee), absent for the last two games, will be ready to make a return to action against the U’s.
Max Muller could come back into the matchday squad having returned from Germany after spending February there due to a family bereavement. This is the second of three home fixtures in a row for the 18th-placed Shrimps, with Lincoln due to visit the Globe Arena on Saturday.
Colchester are monitoring Brennan Dickenson and Ryan Jackson ahead of the contest. Winger Dickenson sat out Saturday’s 1-0 home loss to Yeovil because of a quad injury.
And Jackson was also missing, nursing an ankle problem, as Colchester’s winless run extended to a fourth game. John McGreal’s side are currently 13th in the table.
Each of the three league meetings between these two sides have ended level - only Blackpool v Maidstone United and Hereford United v Sheffield United have seen a draw in each league contest more often (four draws in four league games).
The first contest between these two sides ended 2-2, with each following contest seeing two fewer goals (1-1 in April 2017 and 0-0 in November 2017).
Only Barnet (34) and Grimsby (32) have scored fewer League Two goals this season than Morecambe (37).
Colchester are winless in four league games (D1 L3) and have scored only one goal in those four matches.
