Full Time. And that's it! What a dramatic finish. Marveaux with the cross from the right wing and Cisse heads the ball back where it came from past Gabulov.
Eto'o with a rare break and he tries to beat Elliot at the near post from an acute angle. The keeper is up to the challenge.
Tiote with a silly foul to relieve the pressure. Eto'o wants a card presumably on the basis that it wasn't the first of the night from the Magpies midfielder.
Marveaux crosses for Ciss who heads at goal but is ruled offside. It was a brilliant save from Gabulov who wasn't to know.
At the other end Eto'o brings the ball down well unchallenged from a long ball but then fires over the bar. He cannot be afforded that kind of space.
Anita booked. Bad challenge. Could even have been a red card because he's left the studs on the ankle there. That's the last thing Newcastle need to do surely.
Carcela-Gonzalez is off! Unnecessary challenge on Haidara. He was sucked in by a poor pass to the left-back but when he charged in the ball was nicked away. Perhaps a little harsh but foolish stuff from the Anzhi man.
Chance! Marveaux swings in the ball and Cisse gets his effort all wrong. But the ball falls nicely for Taylor six yards out. He just has to tuck it away but can only find Gabulov instead.
Handball given on the right flank and there are cheers from the home crowd as the referee tumbles while awarding the free-kick.
Chance! Sissoko wastes another headed chance. Good diagonal ball from Tiote that is well controlled by Marveaux and his cross finds Sissoko but he can get no real contact on it.
Chance! Sissoko has an opening but completely messes up his kick. When the ball comes out to Santon he swings in a cross and Sissoko heads over.
Half Time. Still no goals in this tie. Anzhi having the better of it and the threat of the away goal looms for Newcastle. They'll need to improve.
Marveaux with a darting run trying to beat three men. He gets past two but the tackle comes in near the byline.
Newcastle just keep giving the ball away in their own half. Anzhi dominating but can't pick the lock. Now Eto'o overhits a pass when well-placed 20 yards out.
Chance! Yanga-Mbiwa with a ridiculous ball out from the back from a free-kick. Eto'o sets up Ahmedov but the Anzhi man misses the target at the near post.
Santon is fouled allowing Newcastle to swing a ball into the box but Cisse cannot get on the end of it.
Taylor cleverly ducks the ball after a shout from Elliot and Newcastle can ease the pressure. But the goalkeeper boots the ball upfield for Cisse to chase and possession is lost.
Fouls in quick succession by Cabaye and Tiote. Newcastle midfielders will get punished soon if they keep this up.
Difficult to know what to make of this Newcastle performance. They've been more than in the game but Anzhi have had the clearer chances. You'd fancy Pardew will be concerned by how open this is looking at times.
Joao Carlos nearly stretches to get his head to a free-kick from the right but can only head out of play.
Chance! Cross loops in and lands at the feet of Ahmedov but is cleared. Then Newcastle give the ball away on the edge of their own area when Elliot rolls the ball out to Tiote but Diarra's shot is blocked.
Eto'o plays a superb one-two to get away down the right and the cross almost falls kindly to Diarra but Taylor is eventually able to clear.
Neat trickery from Marveaux on the right beats his man and then a powerful left-foot shot fizzes past the near post.
Good possession now from the home side but Haidara's pass is lax and allows Diarra to plough forwards. The midfielder misplaces his pass to return to favour.
Chance! Eschenko strolls past several Newcastle defenders and threads a pass through to Eto'o but the star man drags his low shot wide of the far post.
Marveaux with a run forward that lifts the crowd. They're ready to get in support of their team tonight. But Cisse cannot retrieve the pass.
Thanks for all your messages. The players are out on the field at St James' Park. We'll be underway shortly.
Jack: "Newcastle played well away in the first leg and should get an easy victory tonight in front of the home fans!! Big game ahead!"
Alan is watching another game in Bordeaux but he's been in touch. "I'm emailing from Bordeaux before we kick off here against Benfica and just some words of support for NUFC back home," he says. "Think they'll go through as Eto'o was silenced two weeks ago. It might take extra time with Cabaye the match winner. Newcastle having a great run in the EL, don't know what Rifat is on about! Hoping for a home win for Les Girondins too!"
Messages from all over the world tonight. Lee is in Monaco but he's not too optimistic. He says: "Although I am a Toon fan I think Anita and Elliot are the two weak links tonight resulting in another miserable night for NUFC fans... Newcastle 1-4 Anzhi."
No Willian for Anzhi this evening but, with Samuel Eto'o in attack, Newcastle must be wary. There can't have been many better strikers in the world game over the past decade than Eto'o, a three-time Champions League winner.
Alan Pardew might not know whether to stick or twist tonight. He'll be desperate not to concede an away goal but knows his team must win. It would be a good night for Papiss Cisse to bring his best game. With Cabaye loading the bullets you'd think he'll have chances tonight.
Rifat sees it differently. He says: "Anzhi will win this comfortably in my opinion with the like E'too and Diarra. Hoping for a cracking game tonight. Just hope Anzhi qualify because they have a better chance of winning the competition than Newcastle who are having a miserable season...3-0 to Anzhi."
"Billy here. Avid toon fan. Newcastle have looked impressive coming off of three straight home wins. Toon to progress, 1-0 the score. Marveaux to pull all the strings along with Cabaye. Howay the Lads!"
Lindsay: "I cannot see Newcastle keeping a clean sheet tonight against Anzhi who have looked a pretty good team in their other European games I will go for a 0-2 result and have backed my opinion already."
Jossiah: "Cabaye is almost unplayable since his return from injury. Newcastle should progress tonight, 2-1 is my prediction."
Ivo: "I think Newcastle will win this leg 2-0, all set for us to be the last Premier League team in Europe! Come on Newcastle!"
Newcastle: Elliot, Santon, S. Taylor, Yanga-Mbiwa, Haidara, Anita, Tiote, Cabaye, Marveaux, Cisse, Sissoko.

Our friends at Sky Bet make Newcastle 5/4 favourites to win this one. Anzhi are 11/5 underdogs and the draw is at 23/10.
But Anzhi will be well aware that an away goal tonight could prove crucial. It all makes for an intriguing contest.
The scores are level after a goalless draw in Russia in the first leg. The Magpies were happy enough with that result as they know a win this evening will see them through to the quarter-finals.
