Full-time. That's it. Three points for Newcastle as they end Bordeaux's 17-game unbeaten run. Close game before the break but the quality came from the Magpies, the mistakes from the visitors and it was over early in the second half.
Both sides going through the motions as you'd expect. It's job done for Newcastle here and the scoreline in Belgium means they'll be going top of Group D.
Obertan tracks back well and then Ferguson springs on the counter. He feeds Cisse but the forward is offside once again.
Now it's Bordeaux with a spell of possession but N'Guemo's left-footed shot from the edge is a miserable effort that Harper collects.
Jussie running at the defence and stumbles over his own feet. Sums up Bordeaux's night - they just haven't got going after the break.
Sane trying to break from deep and get Bordeaux playing again but they've been poor in this second half and Bigirimana is now providing similar to that protection Tiote was giving the home side.
Cisse attempts an acrobatic overhead from Obertan's cross but hits it over and he was offside anyway.
Bordeaux clear at the second attempt. And they have the chance to score through Bellion - golden opportunity one-on-one with Harper but the experienced keeper makes the save.
Sane with a powerful run forward feeds Gouffran who checks his shot twice before hitting a left-footed effort from the edge of the box that is blocked.
Patient build-up until Simpson tries to loft a pass over the top but Bordeaux have a high line and that's not on.
Cabaye talking to bench - one or two of these players as well as Alan Pardew will have an eye on Manchester United on Sunday now.
Ameobi shows great strength to fend off two challenges and get to the corner flag. He's really helped Newcastle tonight with his hold-up play.
Confident passing football from Newcastle. It's an easy game at 3-0 and they all want the ball now. Stroking it around without making huge inroads.
Cisse does still want the ball though and pressing helps Cabaye win the ball in the Bordeaux half but he shoots wildly with Obertan well placed.
Newcastle content to pass the ball around now - no real urgency from them or indeed pressure on the ball from the visitors.
Bordeaux finally kick-off. They have rejigged things and risk conceding a few now. Look to be short of numbers at the back.
Ferguson with a cross from deep out on the left and Cisse gets in behind the defence - he's actually offside - and sweeps the ball left-footed into the far corner of the net.
Saivet latches on to a cross from the right and tries a cute flick that Harper can only kick away for a corner.
Ashley: "I see David Bellion is one of the substitutes for Bordeaux. Is this the same player that played for Sunderland?" It is indeed. His last game here was as a Sunderland player. Might get a nice reception if he comes on...
Half-time. That's the end of the first half. Newcastle comfortable even if the scoreline flatters them slightly. Bordeaux looked bright at times but haven't created much and have been undone by a moment of quality from Gabriel Obertan and a defensive clanger.
Ameobi tries to thread the ball through to Cisse but the pass is cut out. Then Obraniak crosses from the left but Elliot claims.
Obertan beats his man and crosses but overhits it from the left. But Bordeaux can only clear as far as Anita and he has a clear chance in the right channel but fires straight at Carrasso.
Just as Newcastle were struggling to come up with anything in the box, Bordeaux give them a gift. Ameobi lays the ball off to Simpson and his cross is about to be collected by Carrasso but he hasn't told his defender he's coming off the line. Henrique, stretching, can only divert the ball into the net with his foot.
Cabaye's effort from a similar distance at the other end is not so impressive. Well wide. Those shots probably reflect the lack of ideas these teams have in the final third right now.
Sane with a long-range shot - seriously, that was over 35-yards away - and Elliot palms away to safety.
Now Tiote gets Cisse away with a booted clearance and the striker is clear of the defence but is defeated by the bounce of the ball. Doesn't look the same player as last season.
Plasil with a corner from the other wing. Cleared. Now Saivet with a right-wing cross. Cleared. Finally Newcastle get away on the counter-attack but Anita wastes the chance.
Obraniak gets his cross in at the second attempt and Elliot can get a slight touch on it to concede another corner.
Saivet crosses and Jussie's header looks to be blocked by Williamson's hand for the corner. Referee says it hit the defender's body.
Perhaps he's wary of the raids of Tremoulinas from left-back. Bordeaux still having plenty of the ball.
Pardew doesn't look happy with his players. He's trying to change the formation it seems - he wants to switch to 4-4-2 with Cisse central and Anita out on the right.
Anita with a throughball in the hope of threading in Cisse on the right channel but the forward is offside.
Good possession from Bordeaux and it's superb build-up play. Jussie with the lay-off and Gouffran's shot is deflected behind for a corner. But when the cross comes in it is caught by Elliot.
Tremoulinas wins a corner on the left after Perch puts his cross behind. Tiote is back on but limping.
It wasn't a contact injury but Tiote may have twisted his ankle in the turf as he stretched to intercept the ball off Gouffran.
Tiote is down now and he looks injured. Not what Newcastle needed to see. He's had a difficult time of it with a calf problem but this looks to be his ankle.
Good control from Newcastle. The first time they've shown any really. Tiote and Cabaye pass it well to force Bordeaux back but when the ball comes out to Simpson his cross is a poor one.
Good defending from Williamson to close the door on the striker but when he passes it back to Elliot the keeper skews the clearance out of play.
There's the booking for Tiote. Clumsy challenge but he presumably regards it as a hazard of the job.
Chance for Newcastle to break in a three on three situation. But Ameobi has overhit the pass to Obertan and the chance is gone.
Suddenly Newcastle are lifted and getting the ball to Obertan again. This time he cuts inside past two but it comes to nothing.
The goal was all about the run of Gabriel Obertan from the left. His first chance to run at the full-back and he stood him up beautifully. The Frenchman is playing against his former club and looked in the mood to impress there. The full-back had cover but Obertan got to the byline ahead of both men and crossed left-footed for Ameobi to toe-poke into the empty net from close range.
Another shot on target. Gouffran pulls away from the centre-backs and Tiote who are all far too deep. He shoots from distance but Elliot is able to collect.
Cabaye with the free-kick and he tries to curl the ball right-footed from a wide-right position. He's trying to bend it over the wall and in at the near post. Carrasso is motionless in the Bordeaux goal but the ball has curled the wrong side of the net.
Threaded ball through from Cabaye to Ameobi and he gets there ahead of Henrique. The Brazilian takes the forward down and that's a clear booking.
Bordeaux still with the upper hand. Tremoulinas with the cross from the left but Gouffran cannot direct the header on target.
There's the first foul by Tiote for those playing the sweepstake at home. A little harsh really - he just jumped towards his man. Fortunately for Newcastle it comes to nothing when Elliot collects Plasil's cross.
Angled cross from Cisse towards Ameobi but the big man isn't even moving for that after the deflection. Positive start by Bordeaux here - they look the busier team.
This time Obraniak does get the shot on target but it's from distance and straight at Elliot who saves.
Chance! The away side happy to stay in shape for a brief spell after the early exchanges and settling into a rhythm. They work the ball out left and when the cross comes in Obraniak should at least hit the target but his header flashes over the bar with Elliot surely beaten.
But it comes to nothing and now it's Bordeaux's turn to get hold of the ball. They do well before twice running into Tiote in midfield and there's no way through. The crowd like that.
Newcastle calm things down a little with some passing across the back before the long ball finds the chest of Ameobi and they play from there.
Now Cabaye does try the pass but the defender just gets a foot to it to deny Cisse a clear run at goal. Wide open in the early stages.
And there's the first effort from the hosts. A long-distance shot from Cabaye when you thought he'd be crossing from the right. Bright start here.
Early throughball attempted by the visitors but the ball skids away from Gouffran in the left channel and that's a goal-kick for Elliot.
More from Ben on his epic FIFA 13 encounter. "Forgot to say Cisse got three, Ben Arfa the fourth but their second when 4-1 down was fantastic...scaring myself!" Let's just base the commentary on that shall we?
Speaking of the great man Mr Tiote, shall we have predictions for when he'll get booked this evening? Closest wins a night in the casino with Mike Ashley (they don't).
The Magpies could do with a win here though after a goalless draw at Maritimo. They've got the players to do it with Yohan Cabaye and Cheick Tiote in midfield.
That Bordeaux unbeaten run is impressive but the hosts have good pedigree in this competition. Newcastle have never lost a group stage match in the UEFA Cup/Europa League - they've won six and drawn three so far.
Ben: "My 9 year old son Kit and I did Newcastle v Bordeaux on FIFA 13 and Newcastle won 4-2 so that will be the score. Trust me that's what we agreed before we played." It's science, ladies and gentlemen.
Adam has been in touch to say he is betting on Newcastle to claim three points in this one. To do so they'll have to become the first team to beat Bordeaux since Caen on April 8th 2012. They're on a 17 game unbeaten run.
Our friends at Sky Bet have the odds for this one. Newcastle are 11/8 favourites with Bordeaux at 19/10. The draw is available at 23/10.

Bordeaux will be tough opponents though. The Ligue 1 side are unbeaten this season with five wins and five draws. They top the group after a 4-0 win over FC Bruges in their first game and won 2-0 at Lyon last time out in France.
Newcastle haven't attracted the same attention as last season but they've only been beaten once in the Premier League season and that was away at Chelsea.
Alan Pardew looks to be taking this one fairly seriously despite the weekend game against Manchester United looming on the horizon. Papiss Cisse scored against United in the Capital One Cup and he gets another run out here in the hope of finding his top form.
Newcastle: Elliot; Simpson, Perch, Williamson, Ferguson; Cabaye, Tiote, Anita; Obertain, Shola Ameobi, Cisse.
Bordeaux: Carrasso; Mariano, Henrique, Planus, Tremoulinas; Saivet, Sane, Plasil, Obraniak; Gouffran, Jussie.
