Quique Sanchez Flores did not deny reports linking Watford with free agent Emanuel Adebayor

Quique Sanchez Flores has refused to rule out a move for free agent Emmanuel Adebayor after the former Tottenham striker was linked with a short-term move to the club.

Adebayor was released by Spurs in September and is yet to find a new club.

Flores already has in-form Odion Ighalo and captain Troy Deeney at his disposal up front and after the latter questioned Adebayor's suitability this week, Flores said he was well-placed to deal with the issue should it arise.

"I know Adebayor. I know him very well," said Flores. "I love players with character, with talent, with hunger and soul.

"So if he [Adebayor] is in this case, he would be perfect - but no names at this moment."

Watford sit 11th in the Premier League with 16 points from 11 games, and travel to third-place Leicester on Saturday.

After making a promising start to their first season in the Premier League in nine years, Flores was at pains not to disrupt the current group of players under his disposal.

"I don't like to talk about players who don't belong to the Watford team," Flores said. "At the moment I am focused on the players at the training ground.

"But for me, the most important thing is that good players want to come to Watford. This is good news. So we would welcome all good players."

Watford will be bidding to win three consecutive games in the top flight for the first time since 1987 when they travel to the King Power Stadium.

Flores, who said Jose Manuel Jurado is a doubt for the trip, added: "Leicester are an amazing team, a tough team, a tough stadium so we want to win but it is important to recognise that we are a team that is improving."
