Sheffield United midfielder Jose Baxter has been disciplined by the club for an "incident" over the weekend.
The 23-year-old has made 20 appearances for the Blades in Sky Bet League 1 this season but did not feature in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Barnsley after he was substituted at half-time in the club's previous game against Shrewsbury.
The Blades have refused to comment on the specific nature of Baxter's wrongdoing.
A Blades statement read: "Sheffield United Football Club is aware of an incident over the weekend, which involved Jose Baxter.
"This morning (Wednesday) he has been disciplined by the club. Sheffield United will not comment further on this issue."
