Hartlepool have made Mansfield winger Nathan Thomas their first signing of the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old returns to the north east having been on the books at both Newcastle and Sunderland, while he also had a short loan spell at Darlington.
Thomas also played for Plymouth and Motherwell before joining Mansfield last summer, scoring once in 21 appearances for the Stags.
"The winger has signed a permanent deal with the club and will go straight in to contention for Saturday's game against Wycombe Wanderers," Sky Bet League Two Hartlepool announced on their official website.
