Watford have completed the signing of Abdoulaye Doucoure

Watford have made two Deadline Day signings and immediately loaned both to Primera Liga club Granada.

Midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has joined from Rennes on a four-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee, while teenage forward Adalberto Penaranda arrives from Granada, where he was on loan from Udinese.

Both will spend the rest of the season fighting relegation with Granada, the Spanish club also owned by the Pozzo family.

Watford chief executive Scott Duxbury said: "The opportunity to sign Abdoulaye Doucoure now was one we wanted to act upon, given our long-standing interest in the player.

"He is very much part of Watford's future plans, and in the time between now and pre-season he'll be experiencing high-level competitive football in Spain."
