Doncaster have signed striker John Marquis from Millwall on a two-year deal.

Marquis, 24, whose contract at Millwall had expired, becomes Doncaster's seventh summer signing.

"John has been on our radar for quite a while now and we're glad to get this signing over the line - the squad is now really starting to take shape," Rovers boss Darren Ferguson told the club's official website.

"He's a tireless worker who leads the line well and doesn't give defenders a moments rest.

"He's a good age and we're hoping that his move here can provide him with a new challenge."

Marquis scored six goals in 16 appearances while on loan at Northampton at the end of last season.

He made over 60 appearances for Millwall after progressing through their youth system and has also had previous loan spells at Portsmouth, Torquay, Cheltenham, Gillingham and Leyton Orient.
