Tom Heaton is optimistic Burnley's promotion to the Premier League will increase his involvement with the England team.

The 30-year-old made his international debut as a late substitute in a friendly against Australia earlier this year before being named in Roy Hodgson's squad for Euro 2016 in France.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ at the opening of his club's new superstore, Heaton, who played in all 46 Championship games last season, says he is keen to add to his solitary appearance.

"I was really pleased to get my cap and be involved in the major championship," said the Burnley captain.

"On a personal note, I want to step on from here and hopefully having the platform of the Premier League will give me the chance to do that.
