Rotherham have signed former Nottingham Forest and Celtic defender Kelvin Wilson.

A statement published on the Millers' website said the 30-year-old centre-half had agreed a one-year contract with the Millers, becoming the fifth new arrival under manager Alan Stubbs.

He is set to train with his new team-mates for the first time on Wednesday and could make his debut for Rotherham against Wolves on Saturday when the new Sky Bet Championship season begins.

Wilson began his career at Notts County and after a stint at Preston he returned to the city of Nottingham to sign for Forest, helping the Reds win promotion to the Championship in 2008.

He joined Celtic in 2011 and after two years at Parkhead he was back at the City Ground after Forest paid the Hoops a fee of around £2.5million.
