Rangers defender Danny Wilson hopes his last two performances have been enough for a starting place.

Wilson is eager to feature in this weekend's Premiership clash against Aberdeen as he believes he has done enough in recent games.

He returned to Mark Warburton's side last week against Ross County after missing the Old-Firm contest with a calf strain.

Alongside experienced Clint Hill, the duo have helped Rangers claim back-to-back clean sheets, including the goalless draw with the Staggies which was followed by Tuesday night's 5-0 victory in the Betfred Cup against Queen of the South.

Rob Kiernan and Philippe Senderos are also back to fitness and competing for a start at Pittodrie.

Wilson, 24, said: "We have four guys who can play in there now. Clint and I have been given the nod in the last couple of games and we have formed a fairly good partnership.

"With both of us being left-sided it puts me on the right side, which is not something that I am too used to, so it has been a learning experience."

The Scot believes the partnership between himself and Rob Kiernan as well as the partnership between Hill and Kiernan has worked, although he has also credited goalkeepers Wes Foderingham and Matt Gilks.

He added: "We are all fit going into this weekend now and all vying for a place, which can only be good for the team.

"I don't think there was a real lot wrong when Rob and I played together and when Clint and Rob played together.

"I think it's just one of the things which maybe has happened, we have kept clean sheets, but we have our goalkeeper to thank as well, who has made crucial stops at the right times."
