New Ipswich signing Joe Garner is looking forward to his new challenge, having moved to Portman Road on a three-year deal.

The 29-year-old spent one season in Scotland with Rangers before returning south of Hadrian's Wall. He moved to Ibrox from Preston last summer and scored 10 goals in 37 Rangers appearances.

The Blackburn-born striker will be re-united with Luke Chambers and David McGoldrick, having played with the duo at Nottingham Forest.

Garner said: "I spoke to both of them and they couldn't speak highly enough of Ipswich and the manager.

"I've had a couple of conversations with the manager (Mick McCarthy) as well and he told me of his ideas for this season and I can't wait to get going now.

"There has been interest from Ipswich in the past but I'm delighted to have this opportunity now to come down and play here.
