Sunderland have completed the signings of Lewis Grabban and Jason Steele ahead of the new season.

Striker Grabban, who has scored 36 goals during two spells at the Vitality Stadium, underwent his medical on Wearside on Wednesday afternoon and has joined on a season-long loan.

The 29-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Reading, scoring three goals in 15 appearances at the Madejski Stadium to help the Royals reach the Championship play-off final, only for Jaap Stam's side to succumb on penalties against Huddersfield Town.

"I'm happy to have everything sorted and I'm looking forward to the season," Grabban told the club's official website.

"The size of the club and its history attracted me, as well the manager."

Goalkeeper Steele, who made 44 appearances for Blackburn last season, has joined the Black Cats on a permanent deal and signed a four-year deal with the club.

"I'm absolutely over the moon. It's a dream come true to sign for such a massive club," the 26-year-old said.
