Clinton Morrison says 'talisman' Wilfried Zaha will be the inspiration to help Crystal Palace climb off the bottom of the Premier League table.
Former Palace striker Morrison was impressed with fit-again Zaha's match-winning performance in the 2-1 win over Chelsea at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
The winger scored the winner on his first appearance since suffering a knee injury against Huddersfield on the opening weekend of the season, and Morrison feels he will prove to be a key man for Eagles manager Roy Hodgson.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said: "Having Wilfried Zaha back made a massive difference to Crystal Palace.
"Palace don't have any recognised strikers so Roy Hodgson went with Andros Townsend and Zaha, and they don't really know how to play that position up front because it's totally different from playing on the wing.
"But Zaha has pace, natural skill and he was the difference - he was the match winner, and was a threat all afternoon.
"He is the talisman for Crystal Palace. With no Christian Benteke there at the moment then you can play him anywhere across the front line and let him showcase his talent.
"He's a terrific talent with loads of ability."
Morrison was also delighted to see a return to Palace's no frills style of play against Chelsea.
He added: "At the start of the season Steve Parish would say he made a mistake bringing in Frank de Boer who tried to change the DNA of Crystal Palace.
"Trying to play out from the back, we have never been a team playing out from the back, we are usually in people's faces.
"Roy Hodgson came in and changed it as you saw from the result against Chelsea at the weekend. Palace players were in their faces and worked ever so hard.
"When you have a player like Zaha, who can win you a game alone, then you can start climbing the table."
