Maya Yoshida says Southampton team-mate Virgil van Dijk has regained confidence since returning to the first team.
Van Dijk was missing from the team earlier in the season due to a combination of injury and a desire to force through a move away from St Mary's, with the Netherlands international handing in a transfer request in August.
Yoshida also says Southampton's poor recent form - in which they have won two points from an available 15 in the Premier League - has come as a surprise to Mauricio Pellegrino's side.
