Freddie Woodman joins Aberdeen on loan from Newcastle

Aberdeen have announced the signing of Freddie Woodman from Newcastle on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper was on the bench for Newcastle on Wednesday for their 1-1 draw with Burnley at St James' Park.

He completed the paperwork for his move to Aberdeen after the match and will travel north to meet his new team-mates on Thursday.

Woodman made his first-team debut for the Magpies against Luton Town in the FA Cup earlier this season, a game Newcastle won 3-1.

He has represented England at every age-group level up to the under-21s, for whom he has made two appearances.

Woodman was also part of the England under-20 side that won the World Cup in the summer of 2017.
