Lille moved level on points with Lyon at the top of the table with a 2-1 win over Bastia.

Lyon hold the only unbeaten record in Ligue 1, but they are being kept honest by the likes of Lille who racked up their seventh win of the season on Saturday evening.

The home side led early through Mathieu Bodmer, but Bastia drew level on 21 minutes when Chouki Ben Saada hit the target.

Lille have found real resolve this season and their stubbornness was rewarded with Geoffrey Dernis' winning strike seven minutes from time.

Auxerre moved to within three points of the leaders with a 3-0 home win over Lens.

Guy Roux's side were full value for the three points after swamping the visitors from the off at Stade de l'Abbe-Deschamps.

Stephane Grichting set the ball rolling with a deflected 25-yard drive on 23 minutes.

Lens had no answer and were two down before the break when Benjani pounced on keeper Charles Itandje's slip to make it 2-0.

The points were sealed seven minutes from time when Philippe Violeau clipped a free kick up and over the Lens wall and beyond Itandje.

Monaco lost ground on the top two after being held to a 1-1 draw at Metz. Emmanuel Adebayor had the Principality side in front, but they were pegged back late on Babacar Gueye's effort.

Nicolas Savinaud's injury time strike for Nantes condemned Paris Saint Germain to their fourth defeat of the season.

Florian Jarjat's first-half effort handed Nice a 1-0 win over Toulouse, while Ilan's hat-trick gave Sochaux all the points against Rennes.
