Saints boss Harry Redknapp has taken Pantelis Konstantinidis, Djamel Belmadi and Rui Marques on trial as he looks at prospective new signings.
Belmadi is looking for a new club and has had spells at Celtic and Wigan earlier this month.
The Algerian international started Friday's pre-season friendly against Kilmarnock along with Greek midfielder Konstantinidis.
The 30-year-old former Panathinaikos star can play in a variety of positions and he is hoping to win a move to St Mary's.
Marques has joined up with the side for a trial period after being linked with a move to Leeds.
The Portuguese defender will spend a few days training with the first team squad so that Redknapp can gaze an eye at him before deciding whether or not to follow up his interest in him.
Southampton have also confirmed they have taken former Portsmouth midfielder Valery Mezague on trial.
Portsmouth decided not to make Mezague's move permanent after joining on loan from Marseille last season.
Redknapp knows all about Mezague having signed him when he was in charge of Portsmouth and he has given him the chance to win a move to St Mary's.
