The 22-year-old midfielder has been in impressive form for French third division side Louhans-Cuiseaux this season and the likes of Ligue 1 duo Sochaux and St Etienne have expressed an interest in the player
But Monaco appear to have stolen a march in the pursuit of Licata as they bid to reinforce a squad soon to be shorn of striker Olivier Kapo who is poised to end his loan agreement at Stade Louis II in favour of a switch to Bordeaux.
ASM are also still locked in talks with Livorno regarding the signing of midfielder Stefano Morrone.
Serie A's surprise packages have so far resisted the advances of Monaco but are believed to be mulling over the latest offer of é¼2 million (£1.4 million).
