Defender nearing comeback from pre-season knee injury

Barnsley's Bobby Hassell could be set for a return to first-team training in the next few days. The defender has yet to make an appearance for The Tykes this campaign since injuring his knee during pre-season. Hassell was a regular for Simon Davey's side last season, and has undergone long-term rehabilitation following surgery on his knee. Barnsley physio Richard Kay confirmed that the 27-year-old is now injury-free and is nearing a return. "Bobby is now completely out of our hands and trained full with the Under 18s this morning," he told the club's official website. "He could even be back in training with the first team by the weekend. "We are targeting a return to reserve team football at Lincoln City on 31st October and then take things from there."
