Peterborough director of football Barry Fry has revealed he is struggling to force players out of the London Road exit.
Posh secured automatic promotion to League One in the 2007/08 season and are now looking to fine tune their squad in order to compete in the third tier of English football.
Fry is hoping to offload up to seven players in order to allow manager Darren Ferguson room to manoeuvre in the summer transfer market.
But Fry confesses he is finding it hard to convince goalkeepers Mark Tyler and Shwan Jalal, striker Danny Crow, full-backs Adam Smith, Danny Blanchett and Adam Newton, and Josh Low - who have all been placed on the transfer list - to leave.
"There are clubs interested in all of the players on the list, but none of them seem keen to leave," Fry told
Peterborough Today.
Reality
"I can understand why as we are a club on the way up and everyone is talking about us.
"Players naturally want to be part of the success, but the reality is these players won't be involved at all.
"The manager clearly doesn't see them as part of his plans so if they want first team football they will have to leave.
"I am in charge of the player budget and although the chairman (Darragh MacAnthony) has pushed the boat out financially, I don't ever want to be in a situation when I have to tell the manager that we can't sign a particular player."
