Hilton and Kim near Marseille moves

Marseille are set to seal the double signings of Brazilian pair Victorino Hilton and Kim.

Defender Hilton is set to arrive from Lens after the two clubs agreed terms, whilst striker Kim appears on the brink of moving from Nancy.

l'OM supremo Pape Diouf confirmed the club were working hard to finalise both deals.

30-year-old Hilton is set to sign in the coming days after terms over a deal were agreed between the two clubs.

"After looking at the players in France who could come here, we decided unanimously on Hilton," said Diouf.

"As the Racing Club Lens were going down to Ligue 2 it made things a little easier as did the excellent relationship we have with Gervais Martel.

"All this facilitated an agreement between the two clubs, but also between us and the player. This is a sporting decision; we hope that in Hilton we have the player capable of stabilising a defence that was sometimes in difficulty this season."

Kim

On Kim, Diouf added: "We've contacted Nancy and Kim.

"It's not a secret. I am in contact with the president of Nancy Jacques Rousselot.

"We're talking but have not reached an agreement yet. Kim is a player that is wanted by the technical staff but he is not the only player in that position that we are interested in.

"There are two other players that the staff like the look of. We are at the stage where we need to sit back and think about things and not rush into any decisions. We aren't back in training yet and the League doesn't start for a long time yet. We will take our time so that we can reduce the chances of making a mistake as much as possible."
