Midfielder agrees new contract

French midfielder Nadjim Abdou has signed a contract extension with League One outfit Millwall. The 25-year-old will now remain at The Den until at least 2013. Abdou joined the Lions as a free agent in the summer of 2008, having snubbed the offer of a new deal at Plymouth. He quickly became a first-team regular under Kenny Jackett and helped Millwall to the League One play-off final during his first year at the club. Abdou insists he was only too happy to prolong his stay in the capital when offered the opportunity, as he feels the Lions are a side going places. "Last year was great for me so it was an easy decision to extend my time at Millwall," he told the club's official website. "I'm very happy here and there is a good spirit in the team."
