Experienced centre-back faces six weeks out

Bournemouth are likely to be without the services of injured defender Scott Guyett for six weeks. The Cherries centre-back missed Saturday's 2-1 win over Crewe following a freak injury in the warm down to the League Two promotion chasers' previous fixture. And physio Steve Hard has confirmed the veteran Australian stalwart could face surgery and a lengthy spell on the sidelines. "Scott's knee swelled up after he did the work that the subs do after a game at Aldershot last week," Hard told the club's official website. "There was no reason and he didn't feel anything beforehand and it stiffened up after the work. "He has had surgery on it about five years ago, so we got it checked out with a scan and saw the surgeon on Friday. "He said there were a few loose bits of cartilage in there. He didn't want to do an operation straight away and he took some fluid from the knee. "If that works, he could be out for up to four weeks. If there is no improvement, the surgeon will operate and looking at what we have found so far, he will be out for around six weeks."
