Rotherham release six after play-off defeat

Pablo Mills heads the list of six players released by Rotherham in the wake of their play-off final defeat on Sunday. Mills, who made over 40 appearances in all competitions last season, was included in the side that lost 3-2 to Dagenham at Wembley but will not be given a new contract for next season. Drewe Broughton, who has since signed for Lincoln, Andy Nicholas, Micky Cummins, David Haggerty and Andy Liddell have also been shown the door by manager Ronnie Moore. The Millers boss told the club's official website: "I would like to thank all the players for their contribution to the club but I just felt that it was time for a change. "Pablo has been here for a long time and he has done a great job while he has been here but I just feel that it is time now that we turn the club around and bring some new faces in."

Taylor

Meanwhile, Moore has expressed his desire to keep striker Ryan Taylor at the Don Valley Stadium. Exeter are rumoured to be interested in securing the 22-year-old's services after he impressed during a loan spell at St James Park towards the end of last season. However, Taylor netted twice for the Millers in their 3-2 defeat to Dagenham at Wembley and Moore is desperate to hang on to him. "I always knew there was a player in there and I've seen what he can do in training, he's absolutely brilliant. But it is about bringing that to the bigger stage," Moore told the Sheffield Star. "Well, I think his days of stage fright are over. He was fantastic. He has another year on his contract at this football club and he is going nowhere."
