Hartlepool midfielder Alan Power has joined Blue Square Premier outfit Rushden & Diamonds.

Hartlepool midfielder Alan Power has joined Blue Square Premier outfit Rushden & Diamonds. The 22-year-old made just two appearances for Hartlepool last season and is reunited with Diamonds boss Justin Edinburgh having previously worked under the Scot during a loan spell at Grays in 2008. Power joined Hartlepool in 2008 after being released by Nottingham Forest. "I know he's more than capable of performing at this level and the fans will warm to him," Edinburgh told Diamonds' official website. "He used to partner Mark Byrne in the Forest reserves and they are very similar players in their style. "I think he feels from the two years of football after he signed at Hartlepool he hasn't really had his break. So there's hunger and desire to get going and he's another fantastic addition to our squad."
