Terriers part ways with big front man

Huddersfield have parted company with striker Tom Denton after terminating the remainder of his contract. The agreement between club and player came mutually and ends the 20-year-old's deal a year before it was due to expire in the summer of 2011. Denton joined the West Yorkshire outfit from non-league side Wakefield FC in August 2008 but struggled to make an impact at the Terriers. He had spells at non-league side Woking and League Two club Cheltenham Town before returning to Wakefield again. Manager Lee Clark has since deemed the tall targetman surplus to requirements and an agreement to settle the rest of his deal has now been reached. Clark told the club's official website: "I'd like to thank Tom for his contribution to the club during his spell here. "Throughout my time he has been a terrific professional and I'd like to wish him the best of luck for the future."
