Killie recruit Welshman as back-up for Bell

Kilmarnock manager Mixu Paatelainen has moved to bring in goalkeeper Kyle Letheren. The former Wales Under-21 international has agreed terms at Rugby Park and will act as back-up to first-choice Cammy Bell. A hernia injury to fellow stopper Alam Combe has seen him struggle to regain fitness in time for the start of the SPL season, leaving Paatelainen short of cover. Lehterhen, 22, started his career at Swansea before moving onto Barnsley and Plymouth last season. A switch to Motherwell beckoned for the keeper, but the Lanarkshire club's emergency loan request was blocked.
