Knill still looking at trialists

Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill hopes to run the rule over two more unnamed trialists this week at the League One club.

Knill is planning to look at a winger and a left-back as he plans ahead for the forthcoming campaign while he may also hand more game-time to midfielder Dominic Green and full-back Stephen Brogan when the Iron take on Gainsborough Trinity on Wednesday night. He told the club's official website: "We've hopefully got a couple coming in this week. I think one (the winger) will definitely be available for Wednesday, one (the full-back) is away with another club at the moment. The feedback is that he's not too sure about that other club. He's done quite well so we'll take a look." Knill added: "(At Halifax on Saturday) I didn't think Dom did as well as he had done. We might give him another game at Gainsborough, but we'll see. I think it's important that you try to give them as much time as possible. "In the first two games he did well but the Halifax game was a step up in opposition. It's difficult because every time trialists get on the pitch they have to impress but unfortunately that's how it is. "I felt Stephen Brogan did okay when he came on. He is what he is, which is a really good footballer. We'll think about it and move things forward this week."
