Utrecht loan for Fernandez

Keeper arrives at Dutch club for the season

FC Utrecht have signed Paraguayan goalkeeper Roberto Fernandez on a season-long loan deal, according to reports in the Dutch media. The 23-year-old, whose father of the same name is a former Paraguay international keeper, makes the move to the Stadion Galgenwaard from Uruguay outfit Atenas de San Carlos. Utrecht are expected to officially unveil the shot-stopper, who will provide back-up to regular No.1 Michel Vorm, later on Tuesday. His arrival has fuelled speculation that Dutch international Vorm could be on his way out of the Eredivisie club. Fernandez was called up to the senior Paraguay squad for this year's Copa America but did not make an appearance, with Justo Villar taking the gloves.
