New boy Luke Howell says he has enjoyed the demanding pre-season schedule as he heads into the new campaign with Dagenham.

The midfielder, whose contract with Lincoln expired in May after the Imps were relegated from the Football League, has been put through his paces by the Daggers before finally penning a deal on Monday. He told the club's official website: "I've been here (training) for a few weeks now. The lads have been great and the training has been hard. I've really enjoyed it." He added: "We've had a lot of hard games. I've been lucky enough to have played 90 minutes in quite a lot of them which is good. The training on top of that as well, there's been double sessions most days so it's been one of my hardest pre-seasons." Meanwhile, a Dagenham XI rounded off the club's pre-season preparations with a 5-1 friendly victory over non-league Thurrock on Monday night.
