Young Preston goalkeeper Andreas Arestidou says he will not surrender his first-team place to Iain Turner without a fight.

The 21-year-old has impressed in the absence of regular number one Iain Turner - sidelined with a foot injury - and kept a clean sheet on his debut against Charlton. "I am delighted to be playing first team football," he told the club's official website. "I have been handed my chance to play due to the unfortunate injury to Iain Turner, but it is good to get my chance out there and play. "Iain is a top goalkeeper, he has been great with me since he arrived at the club. I will keep on trying to play well and hopefully if I do that the manager will keep faith with me when Iain returns from injury. "Now I have tasted first-team football at Preston I want more and more, I want to help North End win promotion back to the Championship."
