Edgar and Grant buying into manager's ethos at Turf Moor

Burnley duo David Edgar and Lee Grant have praised manager Eddie Howe following the team's recent upturn in form. The Clarets endured a difficult start to the season, but followed up a 5-1 victory over Nottingham Forest by winning at Millwall at the weekend. And Edgar, who has formed an impressive centre-half partnership with Andre Amougou, paid tribute to Howe before setting off on international duty for Canada. "We've got a great group of boys and we're all buying into the way the manager wants to play, it's really enjoyable," the 24-year-old told the Lancashire Telegraph. "I've really enjoyed the last month in the team and long may it continue. I'm away for international duty now and hopefully I stay in that team as well because I played in the last game."

Stick together

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Grant believes Burnley are reaping the rewards of a youthful backbone to their Turf Moor squad. Grant said: "We've got a small squad and a young squad and that can go one of two ways really. You can stick together and all work hard for each other, and that seems to be what we're doing. "We're trying not to go the other way where you see some young sides who might crumble a bit in this division, coming to places like The Den, it's not easy for young teams. "But I think we're dealing with it in the right manner, we're working hard, we're sticking together. "The manager's young himself, he's decided that he wants a young squad, it's fresh, it's exuberant and everyone's looking to try and impress so it's good for everybody."
