Freiburg chief angry with player's move to new representatives

Bundesliga outfit Freiburg are hopeful that young full-back Felix Bastians will remain at the club beyond the end of the current campaign. The club's general manager, Dirk Dufner, has indicated that he expects the former Nottingham Forest player to stay at the Badenova-Stadion despite changing agents. The 23-year-old is contracted to the Breisgau-Brasilianer until next summer, although he could leave the club for a fee in the region of £2.5 million, if the club receive an offer for the player, which would activate his release clause. Bastians is now with Dirk Pietroschinsky and Gordon Stipic after leaving former agent Klaus Gerster, and Dufner has indicated his concern with the move after Stipic's strong allegiance with rivals Hoffenheim. He told Kicker-Sportmagazin: "Freiburg will no longer work with this player agency and I'm not going to make any further comments about a new deal with Bastians." However, Dufner hit out at agent Stipic, as he added: "Stipic has strong contacts with Hoffenheim and he is doing his best to ensure that some of our players do not sign deals at our club. "We have experienced that with Omer Toprak and Daniel Williams in the past." But Stipic has denied the allegations, as he said: "That's pure nonsense. Bastians has not agreed a move to Hoffenheim."
